Printer Support

Printer showing offline?
We've seen this before.

The "printer offline" error is our most common call. We've fixed it on HP, Canon, Brother, Epson, and Samsung printers more times than we can count. It usually takes about 15 minutes.

The calls we take most often

Printer issues tend to fall into the same categories. Which means we know exactly where to look.

Printer offline error

The printer is switched on, your computer says it's offline anyway. This is usually a driver issue, a stuck print queue, or a misconfigured port setting. We fix the root cause, not just clear the error.

Wireless printer setup

New printer that won't connect to your Wi-Fi, or an existing one that disconnected after a router change. We configure the network settings on both the printer and the computer.

Driver reinstallation

After a Windows update, printer drivers sometimes break. We remove the old driver completely, download the correct version from the manufacturer, and install it cleanly.

Scanner not detected

Printer works fine but the scanner part doesn't show up in Windows or Mac. This is usually a driver or USB configuration issue. We get the full unit working, not just the print function.

Scan-to-email setup

Many offices want to scan directly from the printer to an email address. We configure this on both the printer's internal settings and the email server side — including with Office 365 and Gmail.

Print quality & jam errors

Streaky prints, pages that come out blank, or jam errors that appear even when there's no jam. We walk through the diagnostic steps remotely and identify whether it's a software or hardware issue.

Quick Answers & Information

Understanding Remote Printer Troubleshooting

Common questions about fixing offline printers, wireless setup, and scanner errors.

Why is my printer showing "Offline" and how do we fix it?

A printer showing "Offline" usually means your computer has lost communication with the device due to corrupt print spooler services, misconfigured IP ports, outdated drivers, or Wi-Fi network changes. We remotely clear stuck print queues, reset spooler services, update drivers, and re-establish secure network connections.

What can you try yourself first?

Power cycle both your printer and Wi-Fi router, set your printer as the "Default Printer" in Windows settings, and clear unprinted jobs from the print queue.

When should you call support?

If the offline error persists after restarting, if drivers fail to re-install, if scanner functions stop responding, or if Wi-Fi setup keeps dropping.

How long does a printer fix take?

Most printer offline errors and wireless setup sessions are resolved within 15 to 30 minutes over secure remote access.

Which printer brands are supported?

We support HP DeskJet/LaserJet/OfficeJet, Canon PIXMA/MAXIFY, Epson EcoTank/WorkForce, Brother, Samsung, Lexmark, and Xerox printers on both Windows and Mac.
